Mt. Zion Baptist Church is a historic church located at 908 Cross Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. The church was organized in 1877 in a home located in downtown Little Rock. The church grew and moved to the current location built in 1926 for a predominantly African-American congregation. Mt. Zion Baptist Church is seeking a senior pastor called by God to be the spiritual and administrative leader of the congregation.

The pastor is responsible to God and the Church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, preach and teach the Bible, provide Christian leadership, and engage pastoral care of the congregation. The senior pastor should possess the following qualifications.

Served for a minimum of three years as an ordained and licensed Minister or an ordained and licensed associate Minister with administrative and pastoral duties.
Undergraduate or master’s degree from an accredited college or seminary.
Effective Communicator of Well-Prepared Sermons
Teacher who enables individuals to learn and understand deep spiritual truths
Communicates well with children and adults
Emphasizes discipleship and spiritual growth
Possesses leadership vision and a well-developed vision for the future
Stresses strong families
