MOUNT OLIVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH
PASTORAL SEARCH ANNOUCMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full time Pastor called by God and equipped to effectively preach and teach His Word. The Pastor must possess those biblical and spiritual qualities as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5 - 9. The candidate must be a born again baptized believer in Jesus Christ and have the ability to fulfill the spiritual needs of the congregation through visitations, prayer, conducting weddings, funerals and administering the Ordinances of the Church. We are seeking a visionary with strong leadership skills to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and execute the Great Commission for increasing the Kingdom of God. The Pastor should possess the ability to teach sound Baptist Doctrine, engage in pastoral care, direct Christian growth and development.
Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church is in Fayetteville located in the Sandhills region of Southeast North Carolina and is the seat of Cumberland County. Fayetteville is known for its cultural diversity and military presence. Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, founded in 1860, is one of the oldest African American Churches in North Carolina (164 years old). Currently the active membership is 350 and there are approximately 18 ministries.
Pastor Qualifications
- Be a Licensed and Ordained minister in the Baptist Faith
- Be a visionary leader for the church with sound judgement and discernment
- Have a minimum of five years of Pastoral experience
- Have at least a Master's of Divinity , Doctor of Ministry (D. Min. preferred)
- Possess effective communication and administration skills (written and oral)
- Pastoral Care and Growth Oriented capability
- Demonstrate financial awareness and responsibility
- Committed to continuing education and development
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with a congregation across all ages and gender.
