Job Description:

We are prayerfully seeking a dynamic and passionate Senior Pastor who is called by God and equipped to effectively teach and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the Word of God. We are seeking a leader that will provide supervisory and administrative leadership and a leader who is a firm believer that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead worship services, including preaching, teaching, and administering sacraments.
Provide pastoral care and counseling to individuals and families in times of need.

a. Spiritual Guidance: involves offering spiritual guidance and support to individuals seeking to deepen their relationship with God. This includes prayer, Scripture reading, and facilitating spiritual practices such as meditation or contemplation.

b. Counseling: involves providing counseling and emotional support to individuals facing various challenges and crises in their lives. This includes issues such as grief and loss, relationship problems, addiction, mental health concerns, or spiritual doubt.

c. Visitation: Regularly visit church members who are hospitalized, homebound, or in nursing homes to provide comfort, encouragement, and prayer.

d. Life Events: extends to significant life events such as weddings, baptisms, and funerals.

e. Community Support: engage with the broader community to offer support and assistance to those in need. This involves collaborating with local organizations to provide food, shelter, or other resources to individuals facing financial hardship or crisis situations.

f. Conflict Resolution: help mediate conflicts and facilitate reconciliation within the church community, promoting a culture of forgiveness, reconciliation, and mutual respect, fostering unity and harmony among church members.

g. Discipleship: includes nurturing the spiritual growth and discipleship of church members through teaching, mentoring, and discipleship programs; guiding individuals in their faith journey, equipping them with the tools and resources needed to grow spiritually and live out their faith in everyday life.

3. Foster spiritual growth and discipleship among church members through teaching, mentoring, and small group ministry.

4. Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to plan and coordinate various church programs and events.

5. Engage with the local community through outreach efforts and partnerships.

6. Participate in regular staff meetings, training sessions, and other church activities as required.

7. Delegator of appropriate activities and responsibilities across ministries.

Qualifications:

10+ years of ministerial leadership experience (does not include virtual services).
Must be willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA within 2 weeks of accepting the offer.
Ordained or licensed minister with a strong commitment to Christian faith and principles.
Bachelors degree, from an accredited institution, required; Masters degree in Theology or Biblical Studies, from an accredited institution, preferred.
Previous pastoral experience in a church setting, with demonstrated preaching and teaching abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Proficiency in pastoral care and counseling, with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to embrace and support the mission, vision, and values of Greater New Light Missionary Baptist Church.

Schedule: Available and as needed

Compensation: $45,000; Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
